Day 1: Arrival in Dar es Salaam

Upon arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative from Ndovu African Expeditions Limited and transferred to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, take the opportunity to relax, refresh, and prepare for the exciting safari ahead. Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s bustling coastal city, provides a glimpse into local culture and daily life.

Day 2: Dar es Salaam → Nyerere National Park

After breakfast, embark on your transfer to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve), one of Africa’s largest and least disturbed wildlife areas. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the Tanzanian countryside. Upon arrival, embark on an afternoon game drive through this pristine wilderness. Expect to encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and a wealth of bird species. The Rufiji River meanders through the park, supporting hippos, crocodiles, and other aquatic wildlife.

Day 3: Nyerere National Park

Spend a full day in Nyerere National Park, with morning and afternoon game drives. Witness the large elephant herds roaming the savannah, observe lion prides on the hunt, and spot buffalo, impalas, and other herbivores. Optional boat safaris on the Rufiji River provide a unique perspective on aquatic life and bird species. Take in the stunning scenery of dense woodlands, riverine forests, and open plains, and immerse yourself in the quiet majesty of this untamed wilderness.

Day 4: Nyerere National Park → Mikumi National Park

Travel from Nyerere to Mikumi National Park, a landscape of rolling savannah, acacia woodlands, and seasonal floodplains. Embark on an afternoon game drive as you explore the park’s wildlife, including elephants, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and the occasional predator such as lion, leopard, or cheetah. The park’s scenic baobab-studded plains create stunning photographic opportunities.

Day 5: Mikumi National Park

Day 6: Mikumi National Park → Ruaha National Park

Ruaha is known for its vast miombo woodlands, river valleys, and rugged terrain, providing a dramatic backdrop to your safari experience.

Day 7: Ruaha National Park
